Media Director

We’re excited to find a new Media Director to our fast-growing marketing team. Marketing is a critical driver of growth for Nectir’s business and media plays a central role in our external communication.

This is an extremely flexible role that allows for creative freedom and tangible results to add to your resume/portfolio. You will be working directly with the Co-Founders of the company and gain hands-on experience with building a startup. This is an unpaid, part-time role with 10-15 hours expected each week, for hire beginning early to mid-June.

In all, this is a unique opportunity for a flexible and self-motivated team player with a strong skill set and interest for marketing and media to join a young, but fast-growing, company.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Nectir’s blog: lead our growing team of copywriters to pitch, write, copyedit, and publish weekly posts
  • Write and/or ghostwrite and submit applications for Nectir’s attendance to local conferences and special events, e.g. Curiosity Conference
  • Participate in regular team meetings to brainstorm new publicity initiatives that push Nectir’s message and drive brand awareness
  • Research for new media initiatives and lead media outreach opportunities
  • Contribute and attend to other ad hoc assignments and events with Co-Founders, when necessary

Requirements:

  • Reside in the Santa Barbara or Goleta area
  • Professional writing and/or editing experience
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and time management skills
  • A work hard, play hard mentality
  • Passionate about revolutionizing education
